Since Leonard Bernstein asked André Watts at the age of 16 to replace an ailing Glenn Gould in performances of Liszt’s E-flat Concerto with the New York Philharmonic, André Watts has enjoyed an international career as one of America’s most beloved pianists. He will return to The Schubert Club for his second International Artist Series engagement performing a program of Liszt, celebrating the 200th anniversary of the composer’s birth. Watts’ first appearance on the series was in January 1985, the month the Ordway opened.
