Composer Mentorship Program

About the Composer Mentorship Program

This May, three high-school student composers in the greater Twin Cities area will be selected to work with The Schubert Club¹s composer-in-residence Edie Hill for the coming academic year.

The mentorship will involve monthly individual sessions, as well as opportunities for the group to get together as a whole. Specific topics and the times of the individual sessions will be arranged jointly, based on each student¹s interests and availability, and may deal with: notation, guided listening, composition, and repertoire. Group meetings may include attendance at local performances, rehearsals, and workshops. In addition, a piece by each composer apprentice will be considered for performance on The Schubert Club¹s Thursday Courtroom Concert series, and each apprentice will receive a complimentary one-year membership to the American Composers Forum.

DEADLINE: May 1, 2008 (postmark)
