ARTIST BIOS:

Nanette Scott Goldman is a freelance violinist and violist in the Minneapolis / St. Paul area. She has been a member of the Kenwood Chamber and St.Paul Civic Orchestras, and served for 6 years as principal viola for the Civic Orchestra of Minneapolis. She is currently a violist with the professional chamber orchestra the Minnesota Sinfonia. Nanette plays regularly for the touring Broadway shows at the State, Orpheum and Ordway theaters. Other venues where she often performs include the Guthrie theater and the Northrup Auditorium (Ballet series).  

She is a Performing Artist for the Thursday Musical organization. Nationally recognized artists with whom Nanette has played range from classical to popular, including Charlotte Church, Luciano Pavarotti, Sarah Brightman, Lyle Lovett, Led Zeppelin, The Who, Josh Groban, and Prince. She can be heard on many TV and radio commercials, as well as the recordings of local artists the Honeydogs and the Hornheads. Nanette is a professor of Classical Languages at Macalester College.


Ingrid Kolleris a freelance violist and violin/viola teacher in the Twin Cities area.  She has played in numerous ensembles and orchestras including the St. Paul Civic Symphony, the First Unitarian Society Orchestra, and the Anoka Opera Ensemble.  She has played in the Lake String Quartet for 17 years and is a performing member of Thursday Musical.  Nationally recognized artists with whom Ingrid has played include Roy Clark and contemporary Christian recording artists,  Michael Card and Fernando Ortega.  She is a member of the contemporary Christian rock group EDGE.  Ingrid is a founder and co-director of the Early Bird String Academy.  She studied with John Tartaglia at the University of Minnesota where she obtained a BM in Viola Performance.  Other teachers include Rennie Regher of the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra and Milton Thomas at the Music Academy of the West in Santa Barbara, California. 
 
Daryl Carlson is a Minneapolis native and began cello studies with Paul Thomas and Ruth Fischer. He went on to studies with Tanya Remenikova at the University of Minnesota and with Sachiya Isomura and Mina Fisher. He is the founder of the Lake String Quartet, which has performed continually in and around the Twin City area since 1981.  As a free lance musician he has worked in various film, audio and stage productions for such performers and artists as Prince, the Dixie Chicks, and Theatre de la Jeune Lune.  He is an active teacher and maintains a studio of cello students. He has also participated in many school presentations as an individual and as a member of the Nokomis Piano Quartet, the Lake String Quartet, and the Northern Lights String Quartet. When not performing or teaching, he pursues a strong interest in the making and restoration of stringed instruments of all kinds. He currently has a cello under way.

Harpist Sarah Grudem has been actively performing in the Twin Cities for over ten years.  She has collaborated with orchestras, chamber
groups and choirs, including the Valley Chamber Chorale, Metropolitan Symphony, Music Saint Croix, Bakken Trio, Duluth-Superior Symphony and
the St. John's Boys' Choir.  Sarah received a BM from Juilliard and a MM from the U of MN.

Gail Olszewski has lived in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area since 1987. Her career includes performing as a soloist as well as with the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra, Minnesota Orchestra and Phipps Oratorio Society (Hudson WI). She has served as music director and rehearsal/show pianist for Ordway Productions, Nautilus Music Theater, Illusion Theater, Minnesota Opera, Northstar Opera and Opera Twin Cities. In addition she is a teacher, a musical reviewer and a lecturer.

Ms. Olszewski has been heard in solo and chamber recitals on piano, fortepiano, harpsichord, organ, harmonium, celesta and synthesizer throughout the United States, Canada, Europe, Central America and Australia. Recent performances include an appearance as piano soloist in the Piano Concerto of Clara Schumann with the Minneapolis Philharmonic in April 2002 and as harpsichord soloist in J.S. Bach's Concerto in C Major for Three Harpsichords with the St. Paul  Chamber Orchestra in March 2003. She presented a recital of solo fortepiano music by English women composers of the late 18th century at the Southeast Historical Keyboard Society meeting in Durham (NC) in March 2004 andn performed a solo recital in November 2004 at Wesley Music Centre in Canberra, Australia to favorable reviews.

Gail is a founding member of "womenperformhers" showcasing works of women composers. She has written musical reviews for the International Alliance of Women in Music and has presented lectures/recitals on such subjects as music of women composers and history of the piano and harpsichord for many schools and professional organizations in the U.S. In October 2002 Gail presented a lecture/recital on the 19th century French composer Louise Farrenc at a symposium on women in the arts at Millsaps College in Jackson (MS). In September 2004 she presented a lecture/recital at the Australian National University in Canberra on Viennese Classic sonatas.

Ms. Olszewski holds a B.A. degree in Spanish and Music History/Harpsichord from the University of New Hampshire, a M.M. in Piano Performance from Boston University, and a D.M.A. in Accompanying/Coaching from the University of Minnesota. Her instructors include Margo Garrett and Karl Paulnack for modern piano; Penelope Crawford, David Breitman and Jacques Ogg for fortepiano; and Jacque Ogg, Arthur Haas, Layton James and Lynda Copeland for harpsichord. Gail has a private studio and is on the faculty of MacPhail Center for Music in Minneapolis where she teaches piano, harpsichord, chamber music and musical theater.

Michael J. Antonello is an independent life insurance agent who maintains contracts with many top life insurance carriers.  He specializes in life insurance applications and tax planning ideas for business owners as well as high net-worth individuals.
 
Michael’s first career was in music.  He was the youngest member of the world famous Golden Strings and subsequently held the concert master position with the Grand Rapids Symphony in Michigan.  Over the years he has played frequently with the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra and the Minnesota Orchestra.  He continues to make recordings with his magnificent 1720 Stradivarius violin.
 
Michael started his insurance career in 1982 with Northwestern Mutual life.  Since 1986 he has worked as an independent agent except for a three-year period when he served as the estate planning and life insurance specialist for Prudential Securities in Minneapolis.  In 2001 Michael and his business partner Thomas Petracek formed Wealth Management Advisors to do specialized insurance planning.  They annually qualified for the top honors that the industry recognizes.
 
Michael lives in St. Paul, MN with his wife Jean.  They have three children:  Michael, Genevieve and Joseph.

Ora Itkin was born in Moscow, Russia, where she received her elementary music education. In 1991, Mrs. Itkin moved to Israel, where she received B.A. in Music at Tel Aviv University, and M.A. in Music at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. Ora has been awarded an educational grant from American-Israeli Cultural Foundation “Karen Sharet.”
    Currently, Mrs. Itkin resides in St. Paul, Minnesota.  She teaches Piano at St. Paul Conservatory of Music and at the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, MN.  
    Mrs. Itkin maintains a piano studio and actively performs as a solo and a chamber musician.
