ARTIST BIOS:
Soprano Alison Scherzer is a native of the Twin Cities and completed her undergraduate studies in Music and German at the University of Minnesota- Morris. She has performed locally with Skylark Opera and Nautilus Music-Theater, and has studied internationally in Austria, in Graz at AIMS (American Institute of Musical Studies) and in Vienna with IES (Institute für Europäische Studien). Ms. Scherzer is currently pursuing a Masters degree in vocal performance at the University of Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music, where she studies with Barbara Paver.
Avedis Manoogian works as a collaborative pianist of many styles and genres. His work has taken him from rock and roll studio work at Pachyderm Studios to standard classical recitals to music directing theater. Last summer he performed with composer John Harbison at his Token Creek Music Festival and most recently, wrote and directed the music for Bedlam Theater’s production of Lost Love. This New Year’s Eve he will play the Varsity Theater with local favorites, Solid Gold.
