Artist Information


ORA ITKIN BIO:
Ora Itkin was born in Moscow, Russia, where she received her elementary music education. In 1991, Mrs. Itkin moved to Israel, where she received B.A. in Music at Tel Aviv University, and M.A. in Music at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. Ora has been awarded an educational grant from American-Israeli Cultural Foundation “Karen Sharet.” Currently, Mrs. Itkin resides in St. Paul, Minnesota.  She teaches Piano at St. Paul Conservatory of Music and at the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, MN.   Mrs. Itkin maintains a piano studio and actively performs as a solo and a chamber musician. Ora was featured at the Israeli Public Radio “Kol Israel” and at MPR 99.5.  

EFIM MALKIS BIO:
Efim Malkis was born in Leningrad (currently St.-Petersburg) in 1989. When he was 7 months old, his family immigrated to Israel where they lived for 8 years.  Yefim returned back to Russia, where he started his music education. He has studied with Lubov Borukhzon, famous piano teacher in Saint-Petersburg until age 15.  He then moved to St. Paul to study with professor Alexander Braginsky. Currently he studies at the International Piano Institute with Braginsky.  Yefim Malkis was the Schubert Club second prize winner in piano last year.
