Where are your performances held?
Our International Artist Series is always held at the beautiful Ordway Center for the Performing Arts.
Maps are available here.
I'm trying to buy tickets, but the best seats I can get are in the Gallery. Why is this?
Over 90% of the hall is sold through subscriptions, so when single tickets go on sale, all of the best seats have already been sold to subscribers.
Are there any tricks to getting better seats for your concerts?
If you're willing to chance your luck, many seats often become available the day of the concert from subscribers turning back the tickets they are unable to use. If you can hold off on ordering until then, you may be able to get better seats.
Do you have a rush line?
There is a student rush for every non-sold out International Artist Series concert starting 20 minutes prior to the concert. All available seats are $12, cash only, with valid student I.D., and the seats are non-negotiable. Anyone else is free to purchase tickets at the counter, but there is not a special rush price.
Finding parking can sometimes be tough for your International Artist Series concerts. Do you have any recommendations?
For our subscribers, we offer pre-paid parking in the nearby Lawson and Victory Ramp. This is available at the time you purchase your subscription or on a concert by concert basis by calling the Box Office, 651-292-3268.
There are many parking ramps that are only a short distance from Ordway Center. These include the Lawson, RiverCenter, Science Museum, and Victory Ramp to name only a few. More information on parking and other means of transportation can be found on the Saint Paul Transportation's site.
Look for signs as you are entering Saint Paul that show availability of the different ramps, and always check our website as we will post parking alerts when other events are scheduled in downtown Saint Paul on the same nights as our concerts.
I am a patron with a disability, and I am planning on attending one of your concerts at the Ordway Center. What accommodations are available?
With advance notice, large print programs are available for any of our programs. The Ordway Center offers many other accommodations which can be viewed on their website.
I recently found out I can't make it to a concert that I have already purchased tickets for. What can I do?
You can donate tickets for a tax credit up to one hour prior to the concert (or until 5:00 online) or subscribers have the option to exchange into another concert if the exchange is arranged 24 hours prior to the concert.
What is appropriate dress for your concerts?
Most people wear business casual or slightly dressy clothes, but you'll see everything from khakis to cocktail dresses at our concerts. There is no dress code.
Please be considerate of the audience members around you who may have allergies and refrain from wearing cologne or perfume.
When should I arrive?
Please try to arrive 30 minutes before the scheduled start time. Arriving early allows you time to find parking, relax, read the program notes, perhaps enjoy a refreshment, and enjoy your beautiful surroundings. Latecomers will be admitted in accordance with the late seating policy.
How long are your International Artist Series concerts?
A typical performance is usually about two hours and includes a 20 minute intermission. We can not determine the exact length of our programs.
Why don't you have the concert programs on your website?
We generally do not receive the concert program until about a month before the concert date. As soon as we receive the program, it will be posted on our website.
When should I applaud?
Audiences tend to wait until all movements or sections of a piece are completed before clapping. You can check your program before or during the performance so you'll know how many movements to expect. If in doubt, take cues from the rest of the audience.
What do I do if I lost my tickets?
Don't worry! Call our Box Office. We can print a duplicate set and void the originals free of charge. If it's the day of the concert, just come to the Ordway Center Box Office and your tickets can be reprinted with photo I.D.
Can I bring my children to your concerts?
These performances are not suitable for children, though interest and attention spans vary. We recommend that children be at least 8 years old. |
